Daahoud Salim

A graduate of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Daahoud Salim was born in 1990 in a strongly musical environment. He started playing piano at the age of four taught by his father, the American composer and saxophonist, Abdu Salim. He studied jazz and classical piano in Badajoz (Spain) with Prof. Ángel Sanzo, Évora (Portugal), Aarhus (Denmark) with Prof. Anne Øland and Amsterdam (Netherlands) with Prof. David Kuyken. He has given concerts in France, Portugal, Spain, Denmark, Belgium, Morocco, Taiwan and the Netherlands, where he has performed in some of the most prestigious halls for both jazz and classical music scenes (Concertgebouw, Muziekgebouw, Tivoli Vredenburg, Bimhuis, etc). He has performed for the Radio4 and Dutch Television, and won international prizes (GrachtenFestival Conservatorium Concours, Carlet International Piano Competition). His musical activity is divers: soloist, chamber music, jazz ensembles, performing own compositions. As a soloist with orchestra he has played with conductors such as Michael Thomas and Andrew Grams.
